Ollie Completes Transalp MTB Challenge
With 4 friends in their 50th year, Ollie headed to the Alps to take part in a unique mountain bike fundraising event for Source Supplies affiliated children’s charity, O2e.
The guys set off from Germany and finished in Riva del Garda in Italy via Austria and Switzerland.
The total distance was just under 900km of off-road cycling with a vertical gain of approximately 25,000 metres across the 7 days of riding. Some days including hiking to the summit of the mountain but the reward was always worth the effort with some breathtaking descents.
The journey demanded a steep learning curve for the team who had to negotiate highly technical trails both on the way up and on the way down and there were a few cuts and bruises to show for it.
The ethos of Ordinary2extraordinary is to get out of your comfort zone through exercise and adventure and the guys certainly did that!
