Before launch: the items marked to confirm need Ollie's real details. This notice describes what the website genuinely does; those fields are facts only he can supply.

This notice covers the personal information collected through this website. It does not cover photography contracts, which are dealt with separately in writing.

Who is responsible

Ollie Rastall Photography is the data controller for information collected here. The business is run by Ollie Rastall and based in Hampshire, United Kingdom.

What is collected, and why

When you send an enquiry

The contact form asks for:

InformationWhy
Your nameSo a reply can address you.
Your club or company (optional)To understand who is asking.
Your email addressTo reply to you.
Type of enquiryTo prepare a useful answer.
Your messageIt is the enquiry.

Submitting the form also records the time, the two-letter country code your request arrives with, and your browser's user-agent string. Those three are kept to spot and discard automated spam, not to identify you.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to someone who has deliberately asked to be contacted about a commercial service.

When you visit a page

No analytics or tracking runs unless you accept cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics is loaded and sets its own cookies; the cookie policy sets out exactly what that means and how to change your mind. If you decline, or ignore the banner, nothing is loaded and no cookie is set beyond the one recording that choice.

Cloudflare, which serves this site, processes request data such as IP address in order to deliver pages and block attacks. That is a necessary part of hosting any website.

Who it is shared with

Your enquiry is not sold, and it is not used for marketing lists. It is handled by:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site, stores enquiries in its D1 database (primary region Western Europe) and delivers the notification email.
  • Ollie's email provider, once the notification reaches his inbox:to confirm.

How long it is kept

Enquiries are kept for to confirm: a stated period, for example two yearsfrom your last contact, then deleted. If the enquiry becomes a booking, the records move into the project file and are kept as long as tax and contract law requires.

You can ask for yours to be deleted sooner, and it will be.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to:

  • see the personal information held about you;
  • have it corrected if it is wrong;
  • have it deleted;
  • restrict or object to how it is used;
  • receive it in a portable format.

Email ollie@ollierastall.com and it will be dealt with within one month. If you are unhappy with the response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Photographs of people

Shoots frequently include greenkeeping teams, club staff and members. Where someone is identifiable and the images will be published, permission is agreed with the club before the shoot. If you appear in a photograph on this site and would rather not, emailollie@ollierastall.com and it will be removed.
