The wetsuit was dug out for the first time since the Iron distance off-road triathlon, X-Man, in 2012, which pretty much put me off triathlon for life!

Not being a massive fan of swimming, I’ve naturally gravitated away from triathlon in recent years.

However, the opportunity to take part in the brilliant JLL Property Triathlon was one I couldn’t turn down.

I was keen to test my Achilles since it’s been over a year without running, except for a small effort over Christmas to test it out – with no joy.

The swim (750m) went as expected; flapping around in what some might consider a panic attack.

Making it look easier that it was. I can’t actually see straight in this photo…

The bike (20km) went well and I was confident that I could post a good time given the volume of cycling I’ve been doing recently. The TT bike helped massively.

The 4 laps of closed roads lends itself to TT bikes perfectly and a decent time was posted.

The run (5km) was a resounding success. Depsite no brick training and not testing the achilles for over 6 months, I was pleased to compete at a decent pace and pain free 🙂

The flat run enabled some quick times to be posted but I was just happy to not be hobbling over the line with wooden legs!

Big thanks to Knight Frank for the place!
